POSITIVE ELECTRODE

Expecting to become a winner isn't the result of having family power or money so much as
having the imagination and intelligence to recognize one's ability to change life for the better.
Being born poor simply forces a persion to function in a different manner if he plans on
becoming a winner. Jeno Pauluchi was a poor son of immigrant parents who grew up on the
Iron Range of Minnosota. But he realized that LIFE WAS HIS to SHAPE, so he borrowed a few
hundred dollars to form the ChunKing Chinese food company. He sold ChunKing some years
later for many millions of dollars.
Each person can be said to have a Positive or Negative ELECTRODE in his life, according to
Berne. A negative electrode draws failure and disappointment like an old fasioned lightening
rod attracts electricity from the sky. A negative electrode draws failure and unhappiness,
because they are incompatible with one's expectations. It brings distructive friends, self-deva
luation, unplanned pregnancies, ill health and early death. A man or a woman with a negative
electrode feels that he is jinxed by bad luck, when he is actually bringing most of it on himself
by his life style. It is part of his self-fulfilling game plan,which was formed when he was a confused, two or three year old child.
On the other hand, a positive electrode attracts good preperation, thoughtfull decisions, supp
ortive friends and bold ventures. Winning events when they occur, have been carefully planned
for and fully expected.
I don't want to give the impression that winning or losing in life is connected to the amount
of money you earn, for that is not the case. The crucial aspect is the realization that you can shape life as you want it to become, rathen than being acted upon by forces and people beyond
your control.
