INTERVIEWS
A few days ago I happened to watch my friend Moshi Dayan give a wonderful lecture on 'how to
attend interviews' to a bunch of girl students who are on the brink of turning themselves
into budding professionals.I came across some more material and I would like to share with you guys......
First, Are you pleasing to the eye? Will the image you present help you OR stand in your way
when you are interviewed for a job?
Next, Are you pleasing to the nose?
Go to your interview smelling like a country breeze on a new born spring day. Make use of
your deoderent and mouthwash in your medicine cabinet.
Avoid onions, alcohol and garlic at the meal. If you use perfume, make it light.
Never be late. Come early to adjust yourself to the office atmosphere. Tell yourself- 'I'm confident, composed, compelling and convincing and also positive, persuasive, powerful etc.
Use the smile that shows in the eyes and let your handshake be as natural as your smile.
Be sensitive to the impression you are making. Avoid tentativeness or indecisiveness, but
watch and be guided by the interviewers reaction to what you say and how you say it.
Don't be so dynamic that your interviewer feels overpowered. Remember the image he wants,
and stay within that framework.
Be serious; be earnest; but show that if you do get the job you will be not just efficient but
a pleasant person to have around. Listen thoughtfully.Pay attention. Ask pertinant questions of your ownbut in a non provocative manner.
(will continue)
